China Bowls, a fusion of neo soul, blues and hip hop influences. She is a regular on the live scene and has played across the country, from Bristol’s Colston Hall to Glastonbury, Boomtown and Bestival. She’s received Wordplay Magazine’s Amplify Artist of the month, as well as rave reviews from Drunken Werewolf and Live Magazine’s Mustafa Mirreh. Support comes from Romances and Chloe Foy.
It would be romantic to suggest that in a small bar in Finsbury Park, a Mexican, an Englishman, an English Romani, an Italian and a Swedish Arab could meet and form a band, their only goal to make rock and roll a thing of the present and of the future. Romances are indicative of what makes their hometown of London beautiful – International multiculturalism, freedom, expression, creation and rock and roll.
Chloë writes a brand of melodic, homegrown pop that has been likened to such artists as Laura Marling and Sharon Van Etten. Her songs are imbued with lyrical and textural inflections evocative of much of the music she loves. Taking inspiration from classical music as much as wider trends within British and American Indie pop,
Chloë’s music comprises of carefully constructed arrangements that delicately compliment her cryptic lyrics.
